MONTEIRO'S HORNBILL. Tockus monteiri

The following two images are of the same bird and were taken in Ongava Game Reserve, south west of the Andersson Gate, Etosha N.P. Namibia, in July 2017.

Camera settings: Image 1, ISO 100, 400mm ( EF 100-400mm Mk2 ), f/7.1, 1/400. Image 2, same except f/6.3 used.

We were lucky to watch a family of Southern Ground Hornbills in the Khwai Private Reserve in Botswana high up on a tree.
Here are some snaps.

What these pictures obviousely not show, is the sound these birds were making all the time.
This was actually one of our best Safari sightings ever.
