Yellow-throated Toucan is the last one from birding on the 3rd continent. Not an endemic but still a typical bird that represents Costa Rica and its colourful bridlife well. 261 different species is a good result, IMO, for that part of the year and the weather we have had. As there will be a next time, in different season, my personal target will be reaching #300 only in Costa Rica. Anybody interested in birding trip to Costa Rica is welcomed to contact me.

Well done on two counts.

An excellent BY total overall and a great result from CR. Good luck with your revised target from there on the next trip.

Thank you, on both accounts. Are you interested in putting your EBC skills to the test?! The dense undergrowth of a rain forest is a great place to practise .

BTW, of all the posted birds from Costa Rica, the title for the EBC photo goes to this one:

Congratulations Alex and Zvezda, a great result from Costa Rica and a magnificent score overall. The crown will certainly be yours this year.

We would be both delighted but I am not (yet) holding my breath . It would be nice to reach 650 ...

Have you any more Lasko?

I think your EBC is a White-eared Ground Sparrow.

No problem with more Laško. But that one was already counted. The white and the yellow behind were conclusive enough even for me .

What a score overall and for Costa Rica! And so many beauties.... Even 650 should be doable for you!

Our coast might produce some yearlist additions, even in winter! You're more than welcome to try.

I agree. A trip to the low countries and coast should yield dividends. Go for it.

Well done on your Costa Rica bird score @xelas.  You have exactly 4 weeks left, I am sure you will make 650:)

Eh, if only my enthusiasm would not be "cooled down" by existing weather in Slovenia. Maybe Zvezda and Tanja might get something next week in London?!
