Actually, both are completely harmless creatures of the night.

I have never seen a photo of a cicada in the act of emerging from its exoskeleton.    Very cool @Whyone?!

I have never seen a cicada. Hear them but not seen. I didn't realize how colorful they are. I can't not think of Harry Potter with that lovely Whip Scorpion.
