Good bye to Cisticolas then.

Some nice additions since then. Your Apalis scrapes through but not that "Cameroptera??" It looks like some sort of imm/juv Robin.

@Peter Connan??

Second look and I'm with Fred on this one. It's not really fine enough for Cameroptera although it has the needed Green back. It's another for the recycle bin I'm afraid Alex.:lol:

I have been right through my SASOL book for a bird with the red eye, grey face and underparts of that "Cameroptera".

The best  I can come up with is a Neddicky and looking back to your Neddicky there are similarities.

@Dave Williams?

I do think it's a Camaroptera. It may look a little less 'refined' than we would expect, but that might be due to ruffled feathers. I don't really see much of an alternative.

I know the hare has a vested interest :D, but I really don't see any green there. The Robert's app, I think?

You are not meant to say that Peter, I have to try everything to keep him back:unsure:

Looks exactly like the photo of a green-backed cameroptera in the Roberts app....

I also think it's a Camaroptera...

Shall we start a poll?

@PeterHG, those islanders, they are just into the game of teasing us, continentals :rolleyes:! No way that Green-backed Camaroptera is anything but Green-backed Camaroptera, and certainly no Neddicky. With that black bill, @Galana?! And while you do have your Sasol book opened, close it and get a Roberts one. There you will see the orange underpants which are missing from Sasol drawings, and are visible on my photo.

BTW, is it because of braxit that you are calling the bird cameroptera :unsure: :D. Good try, folks. No going back on this one, though :):lol:.

Well! What can I say. The Camaropteras in my books, Sasol and Sinclair's Birds South of the Sahara all have white bellies and clear cheeks. Maybe Ian Sinclair's artist was having a bad day?

But @PeterHG's photo clinches it. Humble grovelling apologies.:rolleyes:

I will have to cut back on trips and save up more of my meagre pension to buy an App once I work out what one is.

Brexit?? It was easier to escape from the Soviet Bloc than Brussels.:o But let's keep it clean!

No politics no football then. I agree. To seal the deal, I am moving forward.

All of them (apart of coastal ones), and many more, Dave. As you have seen, there are no warblers, no pipits and only 2 larks. In 28 days you should get more then 300 new birds to your The Gambia collection.
