I make that 28 species, not bad for a morning walk. We also had a distant osprey sighting, but better photos from the BVI. Too bad we didn't go on the previous day for better light :(

 

The sharp gravel/slate paths completely killed my boots though! The rubber cover off of one heel completely vanished and was replaced by a large rock and the other one was shredded, now I know why walking boots are such a good idea....

Your photo of the American subspecies of the Barn Swallow clearly shows the difference in breastband with our Euopean one. Nice!
