I went to WWT Welney this week. The weather was changeable and I narrowly avoided a downpour. Only a couple of new ones to add to my score as well as an unidentified warbler that was too deep in the bush to photograph and that I still cannot put a name to!

I was also stalking a reed warbler, but despite showing itself a few times, all were too brief to even lift the camera, let alone focus! There had also been cranes sighted a few days prior, but alas, not on this day...

One to make up for an earlier EBC

Just seen my first ever peregrine falcon! :D Unfortunately I was driving back from the supermarket at the time, but only a couple of miles from home, so there is always hope...

just love that name bananaquit and I can see where that banana reference comes from.

that long-tailed tit has quite an endearing face too.

Wow, a lot of progress! Love the Flamingo and the Terns, and jealous about the Garden Warbler.

Spurred on by @Dave Williams visit, I thought that I ought to visit here, as it is just down the road and I have never been! I have driven past the sign a few times and hadn't made much of an effort, as most of the places I can go to nearby are fens anyway, but I thought I'd try it out. Unfortunately not all paths are open year round, they were doing building works on a hide and of course, it clouded over when I arrived, so my hopes weren't high, but it turned up a few for the BY, including this lifer about 2 metres from my car.....
