PC's 2019: a lazy year

I should really be out looking for some more additions before leaving SA this morning but decided to look at everyone else's instead! I know where you are coming from with the heat haze, it wasn't worth bothering taking shots for a large part of the day while we were in Kruger but at least I got some PP done in preparation for getting home. Shooting at f11 helps a little but not a lot. Dull days in the Kruger were a bonus but we didn't get many!

Nice catching up with you and the family last night Peter, a lovely evening to end our trip.

Thank you very much for spending your evening with us, and for an excellent dinner. I really enjoyed it.

And thanks for the tip on f11.

@Peter Connan, looks like the last part of the year is when you excell! Just nitpicking but the correct name of #174 is Burnt-necked Eremomela - Eremomela usticollis

Well it may not have looked like the Kalahari, but it certainly had all of the Kalahari birds!

On the 28th of September, Herman Phua ( @Kitsafari's husband) accompanied me to Marievale.

Having been to Marievale earlier in the year, I wasn't expecting many new ones, but there were a few.

The Night Heron sequence is formidable. Funny that #181 shows as a stamp size in the post but opens to regular size.

Yes, I am not sure why I got a thumbnail there either, but I suspect it's ST's way of protecting you guys from close-up views of sub-standard photography...

The Night-heron sighting was indeed very special.

A worthwhile trip indeed.

Nice when the photos actually show the defining field mark such as the barred rump and tail base on the Burchell's.

As others. The Night Heron is special.

However there is one area of disagreement.

That cannot be right or all mine would be thumbnails and I would still be in double figures..
