19. House Crow, Mauritius, 19.

 

This bird sadly has a deformed bill - albeit that is seems otherwise healthy. Birds beaks are made from keratin and apparently Avain Keratin Disorder is not unheard of in crows - particularly in Alaska (or so the internet tells me!)

it looked like what we call the zebra dove here in asia. so i looked up the name "barred ground dove" - and it is the same species! I didn't realise it had another name. the Geopelia strata is also known as the peaceful dove. thanks to BY threads, I'm learning more stuff.
