Birding in Goa - November 2020

Really good to see this all coming together. Unfortunately, @Soukous it's looking more unlikely that I'll be able to join.  I WISH I could, but it's not going to happen this time around.  Maybe next time. I eagerly await the TR when you get back!

As for food, if any of you are meat-eaters and like a bit of spice, I recommend the following dishes if you can get them:

- Sorpotel

- Chorizo/Pork Sausage Chilli Fry

- Beef Chilli Fry

- Chorizo Poi (chopped chorizo in a pitta bread-type thing)

- Crab Xacuti (or any other meat xacuti, for that matter)

- Pork Amsol/Solantulem

- Goan Fish Thali

For all of these dishes, you pretty much have to get them from a hole in the wall or a food truck.  Don't bother with the touristy restaurants as they won't get the flavour right or won't even have these dishes.  Unless you're passing through Panjim, in which case Viva Panjim! is THE place to go.

I'm jealous.

Cheers!

Thanks @Zarek Cockar, sorry we won't see you there but if we'll certainly look out for the dishes you recommended.
