Since you have given me an answer in a round about fashion that's good enough for me! Not that hard really was it:) I'm sure you can find something suitable to post.

Caught flat-footed and away from my photo archive...

I hope feeder birds are  allowable .  Here are three photos I had online from January 2013

That looks like a Black-chinned Hummingbird to me.

Correct @Atdahl - the purple gorget feathers are a dead giveaway.  Over to you.

Woooo whoooo!  I finally got one right! :)

I don't know how easy or hard to make this.  So, let's try a hard one and see if hints are needed.  Everything you need to ID it is actually in the picture even though the bird is blurry since it's just taking off.

@Atdahl Well that is surely a Trogon and since you are in Arizona I'm going to go with Elegant Trogon.

Well, geez @janzin I guess that wasn't hard at all.  You nailed it.  The Elegant Trogon has to be one of the prettiest US birds.  Here's a shot where it's actually in focus.

Well @Atdahl I knew you'd just been in Borneo so I looked up the Borneo trogons and it didn't look like any of those, so I immediately thought "Elegant!"

I will need a bit to come up with something again...stay tuned...

Grey or as you spell it Gray Flycatcher? Taken with a flash hence the red eye?

Not a Gray nor a Grey Flycatcher, but you are right about the flash...disregard the red eye.  The eye will not be a clue, no matter (it should be just black.)

Must be a Smoke-colored Pewee then @janzin.

Darn it - I forgot to lie low until I get some more quiz photos.

This probably won't occupy y'all for long; best I could do on short notice:

@offshorebirder - no guess yet so I’ll throw my hat in with a speculative guess - African Grey Flycatcher?

You got it @lmSA84!

Well done - it is darker / more brownish than the pale grey one expects from African Grey Flycatcher.  Another tricky bit is the bird's posture - more horizontal than their usual upright perching stance.

Over to you.

Thanks @offshorebirder - the colouring was confusing on this bird but I couldn't think of another alternative.

Like you I'm running low on potential entries so let's try this one...

That is a nice photo of a great bird @lmSA84.     May I ask where you saw the bird and took the photo?
