Fantastic. What lens were you using?

I believe I used a 70-300 zoom. The pangolin was curled in a ball for the first one and it's at 160mm, so quite close up. Second is at 300mm when it came out of the ball, and decided to make a run for the trees.

I replaced the original ones I posted with more recent versions with better colour. I found a third while I was in that hard drive.

A pangolin puts in a guest appearance in this ZDF film about our human-predator conflict study in the Caprivi strip. If you just want to see the pangolin, start viewing around 18'20".

Commentary is in German. The film deals mainly with the presenter's experience of the area but gives a little idea of the daily routine of the scientific study (gps mapping, interviews with farmers, recording of kraals, searching for predators and wild prey).

I really, really want to see one.

I like that second shot Wild Dogger, the light glancing off the scales is very attractive.

Jealous, me? :)

I'm filled with nothing but happiness for my fellow safaritalker :o

Actually, me spotting a pangolin after all these years would probably end up being quite anticlimactic....

Wish too..... not even a porcupine.... I can do an Aardwolf - hardly the same thing, though.

I just got in today so better late.....

Here's one Poledancing for Darwin

It's a Long-tailed Tree Pangolin from DRC.

The unfortunate thing is that these guys are mostly for the pot in DRC

Great addition to the thread! This one looks quite young. It's a tragedy that they end up on a plate...

Yeah, I think it was still young, although some of the ones we saw vere even much smaller.

Another for the collection. Taken on the Busanga Plains', Kafue National Park. Only my 2nd ever sighting, although Busanga is 'relatively' a good place to find Pangolin...

Was the pangolin on the track? And, don't tell me it was on the same day as the aardvark sighting...

My wife Klaudia saw it in the field next to the track.
