Yes, beautiful.

I had some great sightings at Ranthambore but our overall experience was marred by the way the drives were organised and managed. I wonder if anything has changed in that respect?

We had a better experience, overall, at Bandhavgarh.

The way the drives are organized is still a mess. But with a good team of guide and driver you do not have to worry about it much. Bandhavgarh's drives have been messed up for the last one year.

This is T 17's first photograph. Her mother (Machali - our best known tigress and her three daughters from the last litter - T 17 is the cub in the centre)

Stunning photo: this should be the cover image for every Tiger Conservation campaign. Dicky, please feel free to start new topics in the Ranthambhore tiger database for the other tigers. Machali would be a great start! Look forward to seeing more. Matt.

Will do. Machali (which means fish in Hindi) is my favourite tigress by far. When I moved to Ranthambhore she was 6 months old. She was the first wild tigress that my wife saw. She is now an old lady (not my wife) and may not last long. I have been fortunate to work on 4 documentary films on her. She is rock star. Thats her below:

T 17 stalking

This picture lost out in the final rounds of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition in 2010. Andy Rouse with a nearly identical (but better) picture won the category. I am proud to have him as my photography "guru"
