Nice stuff @Peter Connan.     A bird in one's yard is worth ten in the bush!

Thanks Nate @offshorebirder.

Although, I would prefer to be chasing the ten in the bush. My Big Year really needs it!

This juvenile Southern Pale Chanting Goshawk wasn't sure what to do about this snake. I think it's a mole snake but it was rather too far to get a clear ID. In Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

There are so many good BIF's available - it's hard to find anything different (for me anyway)
I have never seen a cattle egret with another bird in the mouth. Rather a huge crop.

These photos were taken yesterday on Murphy Island, South Carolina - a vast wildlife preserve north of Charleston. We were covering the area as part of the McClellanville Christmas Bird Count.

Pileated Woodpecker (largest Woodpecker in North America) in flight.  This bird is a female since the line extending back from the base of the bill is black and not red like a male would show.

This is a flock of Northern Pintail ducks that were being hunted by an adult Peregrine Falcon.  The Peregrine is in the lower right corner of the image.
