Bets of luck @Dave Williams!

Nice capture of the flying fish - I know how they can drive you crazy trying to get a decent photo.

Unfortunately no Dolphins or other cetaceans seen during this latest pelagic trip in Liverpool Bay but a lot of fun was had trying to capture diving Gannets.

This is one complete sequence, the shots have been cropped and I didn't capture the point of impact but it gives an idea of the speed and manoeuvring the bird makes to hit it's target fish.

Shy by name, not by nature. A Shy Albatross cruises past the boat. Captured last Sunday. 30 nautical miles off Pt Fairy, Victoria, Australia.

@Geoff - I am writhing with jealousy!   What a great bird to see.

Amazing capture that shows the diverse color and pattern of the bill.

@offshorebirder Nathan, Shy Albatross are common where I live. I can see them from shore on most days. A few more pics...

Another Shy Albatross (captured a few years ago).

and to finish off an albatross hybrid that had the twitchers discussing what species could produce that offspring.

@Geoff Great selection of Albatrosses, one day I might be lucky enough to see just one! In the meantime I'm sat up in bed with a cup of coffee and my laptop instead of being 2 hours into a pelagic which was cancelled due to the sea conditions :(. It's a grey windy day here in North Wales today.

I know that situation all too well. I've had more pelagic trips cancelled than have left the harbour.

Great-winged Petrel. Apparently they're now split into Great-winged & Grey-faced Petrels but I can't tell the difference.
