Great pictures all, but I especially love the Oxpecker on the Buffalo´s head. Fantastic!

7th DAY 2010

Morning game drive

I stayed 6 nights in 2010 and not 5, like I mentioned in the beginning of this TR.

The day before, we had spotted a seriously sick hartebeest. This morning, the vultures were already busy on its dead body.

Yawning lion

The same lion, doing stretching exercises, yoga perhaps, before the real action.

Thanks a lot, Michael, your comments are always well appreciated.

I was expecting your question, I slowly come to know you. I do indeed still have some stuff. I think about starting a new topic in the historical reports, that will cover the 9 trips I made to Selinda, a place that I loved, from 1998 to 2007, where it will be a lot all about lions. But it will take some time because I have to make a selection in my slide library, then scan and process the chosen pictures. I came to digital in 2005, and completely to it in 2007. Besides, next month I will go to Africa for 2 weeks, but I do not know yet precisely where.

Thanks to you, Hari, for following it and commenting on it. Selous is indeed a nice destination, so as Ruaha besides. I strongly recommend those two places.

:)

Great and very photogenic trip report. I was sorry we missed Sealous when we visited Ruaha, but you brought it to me instead.

I hate to see this report end; but will look forward to the next adventure!

Why does this image make me laugh?

I looked at it, went on, then returned to enjoy it again.

You've captured a humorous special moment.

Top shelf photography!

Just catching up with this trip report - just brilliant. Especially the martial eagle/monitor lizard sequence - what a sight. My stomach's churning a little from the eye-gouging, but its still amazing.
