A couple of quick images of the migration coming to town - or small blotches of them. Albert did mention that about 500,000 of them were congregating in the Naabi Hill area and he would be happy to drive us there if we wanted to .... We opted to just stay put and discover the Namiri area. Along with the migration also comes those flies that sting (not as bad as the tse tse though ;) )

For whatever reason we didn't encounter any Tse tse in the Eastern section of the park - maybe very little woodland? I remember being hammered by tse tse attacks, a couple years ago in other sections of the park.

Morning day 3, we came across a Cheetah mum with 2 cubs in almost perfect light ....... I just can't get enough pictures of Cheetah on mounds regardless of location.

We could not keep up with the family that particular day, but, found them again the following afternoon ..........

One of the cubs posed nicely on another mound and here is the "yawn" series....

Incredible, it took you till page 3 to give us some cheetahs. Is the madness fading?

It's looking like this female cheetah is named, "Laura" by the Serengeti Cheetah Project - just FYI if it's of interest to anyone

Hari it looks like that termite mound was swarming with cheetah... Love the yawn series too. Makes me want to go back to Namiri Plains!

Finally, the cheetahs arrive. The yawning sequence is superb. Glad the trip worked out so well, Hari. You deserve it after the last sub-par experience. Then again, the title of your TR says it all.

@@madaboutcheetah, Your TRs never fail to utterly transport me. The secretary bird was such a lucky encounter (and skillfully captured).

I don't think the collared lioness disrupts the photos at all. She is, after all, still wild, and is a testament to the research being done there, which is kind of cool to see.

The "yawn series" is adorable.

Thank you all for the kind comments - you guys are far too kind!!!

Regards

Hari

This next installment is of Laura and her cubs the same afternoon - It appeared to us, that they probably ate a gazelle earlier that day as the cubs end up playing "tug of war" with the final scraps into the setting sun .......

Thanks Lynn and @@wilddog

Lions on kopjes are a serengeti speciality as you'll know ........ Too bad just a couple of Lionesses and a cub present this particular morning (presumably the rest of the pride out hunting). They weren't doing much, so a quick couple of shots to utilize the morning light was the best we got.
