The Hunt for the Wild Dogs

Recommended Posts

Day 8

Matt would be our guide at Lagoon with Tevo our tracker. Lagoon did not have the diversity of animals that we had seen at the other camps. But right away we were able to track a Leopard on an ant hill. Spent a great deal of time watching her before heading back to camp for brunch. Seeing the migration from the camp of the elephants and hippos going across the river to the island was spectacular. We relaxed at the lounge to be suddenly startled by load thuds. It was a herd of elephants that numbered about 80 that had decided to see if the Marula tree was still flowering or had any fruit. We were told this is a common occurrence at the camp when the tree is in blossom. Totally magical afternoon!
