Aberdares, 8/12 - unfortunately only an ebc-shot of this striking bird.

 

 

The female - as is the norm with Sunbirds much less interesting, and very tricky to identify. I have lots of female Sunbird shots where I gave up on identification. This is has at least some distinctive traits. Aberdares, 6/12

Unfortunately we did not see the Aberdares specialty Scarlet-Tuftet Sunbird this time.
