A short interruption on South Africa´s birds, two new ones from Austria:

201(E159).) House Martin (Delichon urbicum) / Mehlschwalbe

13/08/2016, Carinthia

Our second common Swallow (the other is the Barn Swallow). Easy to see in most villages.

202(E160).) Dunnock (Prunella modularis)/ Heckenbraunelle

15/08/2016, Großes Fleißtal, Carinthia

It is my impression from the UK-Big Year threads that Dunnocks are quite common there. They do occur here, but I only ever see them in the mountains, and not very often, and they are usually secretive and shy and disappear into the undergrowth. This (young) one was a bit bolder.
