@@TonyQ. Love the longclaw - a bright bird.

Now is that a bloodied vulture? (5th pix in white backed vulture)

Kenya will just get me past 200 - but there are very few birds waiting after that!

Great shots Tony. You are quickly outpacing us. Don't you ever work? :)

Looking forward to seeing a special #200!

Phew, you are really building up the distance quickly :D !

Re # 193. f/5.6 is not always the best option; that would be one sharp branch AND bird at f/8 !

Thank you - it was a very bloody vulture!

Don't you ever work? :)

No! :P

I have retired - but all of the Kenya photos were taken on a 2 week trip.

@@xelas

I will slow down very soon. I may get to 200 before you, but I am sure you will get to 300! (I agree about f5.6)

Nairobi 23.01.2016

So that is the end of the Kenya section. When we went to Kenya we were certainly not birders. But Kenya just after the rains was a fabulous place for birds – many of them in breeding plumage. We really enjoyed looking at them and they added another layer of interest to our trip. We also brought that interest back with us!

I managed to photograph 106 species in the time we were there. If we had been birders, or if we had concentrated on them more, I am sure we would have seen many more.

@@TonyQ, great effort, 200+, I particularly like #187, "Silver Bird", why don't they all have names like that. Actually I really love the Vultures and Birds of prey, keen to see if there's any to come in the next 6 months in your home territory. After following @@Towlersonsafari thread on Grouse hunting ( hope I've got that right), it has sparked an interest in British raptors. Anyways, lovely photos and I'm sure you'll meet the challenge to boost your numbers even further going forward. What else would you do with your free time?

200 hurrah! @@TonyQ I really do enjoy your photography, but as you have admitted to being retired you have no excuse now not to go to say Mull, in September or October to photograph Golden and White tailed Eagles, perhaps a Hen Harrier and short Eared Owl, even a merlin-and you need to produce stunning photo's of Ravens and hooded Crows.........

Well done, both in quantity and in quality! Even more so for a non-birder, but that's surely a thing of the past now. You can't take the lead in this wonderful thread and maintain you're not a birder. That would really put the pressure on the rest of us :)!
