Towlersonsafari

Hurrah1 @@TonyQ Eider-my favourite ducks, Twite, greenshank and lovely picture of a rock Pipit, to compare with the Meadow Pipit- a very fine Scottish haul indeed. a pro oos of absolutely nothing, i remember many years ago watching a tv programme-fiction, where john gorden sinclair had to get a tattoo- and he panicked and chose a meadow Pipit-and every time i see one-well nearly every time as otherwise I would have even less friends, I say to myself in a terrible broad Glaswegian accent "Meadow Pipit"

just because I can

Keep up the splendid work!

I am now experienced enough to know this is not a bird! However I was very excited to see it as they are extinct in most of England (but not Scotland)

Already seen in Kenya, so does not count in the total (but a much better sighting!). It was thrilling to watch.

Beautiful set of pictures of the Harrier, @@TonyQ ! We still have the Red Squirrels over here fortunately. Well that is probably because we have managed to keep the grey ones out.

Kingfishers and Coffee

The Kingfisher I posted was in the EBC territory - though we were very pleased to see it in the middle of Birmingham. We have had some better sightings at Upton Warren

2.10.16

These were from a hide alngside the Moors pool - it very helpfully sat on a branch in front of the hide.

On another day (4.11.16) we stopped at the cafe which has an outdoor terrace overlooking a sailing pool. We had a fine cup of coffee and enjoyed the November sunshine, and watched as a bird flew fast and low across the water and landed in a bush at the side of the pool.

And then shot across the water to a distant island

post-45513-0-97263600-1480182297_thumb.jpg

We revisited the cafe the other day, enjoyed a cup of coffee on the cold terrace - and saw the kingfisher again!
