That leaping impala was you from the canoe to the shore after the hippo incident. Just what I need right before my 3-day Zambezi River camping trip in Mana Pools. Yikes. Hopefully that baby will be older and need less protection. :unsure:

That lovely canoe photo must have been pre-mama hippo.

 

After such a frightening incident could you even consume the food from that attractively set table?

Amazing pictures :) Seems like the trip of a lifetime. To catch a leopard sleeping in a tree like that, dream come true :)

Thanks @@soleson for a super report. Back in 1999 I did a 5 day canoe safari down the Zambezi and we were on constant hippo alert. Glad everyone was ok.

Well after reading that hippo attack story I now know why people recommend buying disposable underwear on safari...

Wow, the hippo story must have been really frightening ! I'm glad everyone was ok.

We also did guided canoe day trip with a park ranger during our Mana Pools trip in August, and now I understand why the ranger was carrying AK-47 with him.
