152/ET62.) Chestnut-Naped Francolin (Pternistis castaneicollis) / Braunnackenfrankolin - ENDEMIC

Very common in Bale Mountains NP.  Its status as a Horn endemic was recently called into queston when some birds were apparently sighted in Northern Kenya near the border to Ethiopia.

153/ET63.) Moorland Francolin (Scleroptila psilolaemus) / Hochlandfrankolin

A very shy Francolin seen a few times in Guassa. They sometimes really startled us because they stay invisible in the high grass until one gets very close then they flush with loud skirmishing and screaming. Always too fast for me to get a proper shot.

-/ET68.) Black Crowned Crane (Balearica pavonina) / Kronenkranich

Another one I won´t include in the overall count. A bird high up on my wishlist, and Abiy knew exactly where to find them. Unfortunately this was on the way back to Addis to catch our flight back home so we simply had run out of time, otherwise we could easily have approached them. Somewhere in the Rift Valley North of Lake Ziway.
