217/ET134.) Northern Carmine Bee-Eater (Merops nubicus) / Karminspint

219/ET136.) Lilac-Breasted Roller (Coracias caudatus) / Gabelracke

Lake Langano. A good example for how different birdlife here is. This (ebc)-sighting was the only time we saw this classic safaribird - it´s not very common in Ethiopia.

220/ET137.) Abyssinian Roller (Coracias abyssinicus) / Senegalracke.

Close to Doho Lodge. This bird, delightfully common in the lowlands, more than made up for the lack of LBRs.

221/ET138.) Black-Billed Wood-Hoopoe (Phoeniculus somaliensis) / Schwarzschnabel-Baumhopf.

Lake Langano. A new one for me , it´s a near-endemic to the horn, only occurring in Northern Kenya otherwise.

222/ET139.) Black Scimitarbill (Rhinopomastus aterrimus) / Mohrensichelhopf

Lake Langano. Similar to the Black-Billed Wood-Hoopoe being the pendant to the Green Wood-Hoopoe this is the more Northern and Central African answer to the Common Scimitarbill.
