As last year, I left Selinda in the middle of the morning and landed at Kasane at noon. A driver was waiting for me. The formalities at the two border posts were carried out, as usual, without problem

More birds, still a lot of migratory blue-cheeked bee-eaters,     And little bee-eaters.

Now, something different that I had never seen before, a carnivorous species, but also, depending on the circumstances and it seems to be quite common, cannibalistic, at work, the African bullfrog.

Thanks - I really enjoyed following this TR including seeing the Golden Oriole (one of my favourites that I haven't often seen) and that striking little Violet Eared Waxbill that is a new one on me.

Curious about the sighting of that beautiful serval -  in the first couple of shots of it in #161 it looks as if it's level with or slightly above you?

@Caracal

The main road at Shumba was built on an embankment.  When we spotted the serval, it was walking on the road.  The vehicle was off road and we were just about to come up again on it.  That's why the serval was almost level with us.

That fork tailed drongo takes a back seat (literally) to my favorite Hoopoe in your shot.  No doubt about why the Violet-eared waxbill is so named.

Way to go with the sable!

Have you made your Oct reservations for Hwange?  If so, you'll be hard pressed to beat these shots.
