I have only seen these in Scotland in previous years, so pleased to see them in the Midlands. Unfortunately not very common.

Although this is only our third year of birding, we look forward to the return of the Avocets to Upton Warren. Beautiful birds, and I still remember our delight at seeing them for the first time. This one is for @elefromoz

That's three votes  to count the Owl. So don't give two hoots about it. Count it!!

@TonyQ, you have a great collection,  I'm particularly enjoying everyone's "local" birds this year. How lovely that even now we can still all wander to our local reserves and see such variety, I hope it stays that way. 30+ garden birds, you must have a friendly welcoming refuge for them. The Avocet is lovely

Great shots of the pheasant.

Since the owl can presumably be almost nothing else, you may as well count it!

@Peter Connan @michael-ibk @Galana @Dave Williams @Zim Girl Thank you, I will follow your guidance and include the Tawny Owl!

@elefromoz Thank you. Our garden is fairly smathe ll, but we do provide food and water to the birds. We are also lucky that gardens that back on to ours contain a number of mature trees. We are up to 36 species now with 4 new ones this year Lesser Redpoll, Fieldfare, Tawny Owl and Goldcrest!
