It would appear so. Should I complain and if so to whom?

Seems like he will need his strength for that trip.

Most of Botswana has had exceptional rains, so we are likely to get thoroughly stuck!

I wonder if he's packing his snow-shoes...

Indeed it is all quiet on the Slovenian front. Cold and snow and clouds, and most of the birds from the feeder has already been posted. Good news is today sun shined again, and temperatures are up.

Maybe a couple more local birds before Botswana (sparrows, crows and likes) but nothing major. As for the rubber boots ... what to say, not every day is a Sunday and not every trip is a sunny trip :D.

Adding a few more Slovenian birds in a feeble attempt not to fall too much behind the top flyers. This one was left behind from before the cold weeks.

And I am jealous about the Lapwing.

It's so much prettier than any of ours, especially if you catch the colours as well as you have!

@michael-ibk, there was one Hawfinch in our garden in the winter ... daily sightings :)

@Peter Connan this one was one very obliging bird; my previous attempts at this bird (at the exact same location) failed miserably :(

@lmSA84 this year I am seeing Hawfinches almost regularly :D

@Galana 4 weeks for preparations, 2 weeks for travel, 1 week for recovering ... but from now on till end of June there will be regular flow of birds for you to correct my failed ID :o
