Late to the party, as usual, but lovely Spotted Crake and Water Rail. and all the others.

I need to find some birds to photograph, my camera has dust on it.

One truly substandard photo but posted because I have spent 3 hours walking through wet grass and this one is the only new bird I was able to find. Huge crop, bad light, tired shooter ...my sincere apologises.

Autumn is the time when birding is better done from hides.

Still huge crops but good light makes a difference! There was a big flock of Greylag Geese at wetlands in Italy, and usually there are always a few "immigrants" hiding among them.

Coming to The Netherlands was a great idea, and having @PeterHG as our guide even greater! He knew all the good spots, and birds likes him a lot  ... thus we have been able to get some really special ticks.

It was really great doing some birding together with you, Zvezda and Tanja , @xelas and even though the weather did not really cooperate, we saw some good ones. This little beauty is a witness to that. I did not manage to get off a shot myself, but I am glad you did! I know there's more to follow .....;)!

And among the many gulls and oystercatchers, these little fellas were fast moving so hard to get them in focus.

Leaving Amersfoort after six days, we feel very much like part of deHoog family. Thank you Jeanette and Peter for sharing your lovely home with us.

And there was also the bonus, farewell bird coming to the garden.

Wow. It is not often the humble Dunnock makes it up a list as high as 343. You have captured its puzzled expression so well.

EDIT 10 seconds later.

I take it back. I have just seen it hit 351 on Peter's.:o

Last one we saw them many but far out in the field, so I was really happy to notice this one at much closer distance. But what a sneaky bastard that one was ; so off he goes and here are 3 candidates where I will ask for the expert local opinion of @PeterHG who was there also. I hope that there is at least one Lesser among all below geese.

344 and the next two are very cool, three much-sought (and very rare) birds here! But I think your Lesser White-Fronted Goose is not but quite a bastard actually - literally. :)
