If anybody is looking for accommodation in this area, I could really recommend Madi A Thavha, near Louis Trichardt. We have stayed there several times while enroute to other places,  having once been collected from Polokwane airport and on another occasion being driven from Johannesburg. It is also possible to get the bus, then Gautrain, from Louis Trichardt to Johannesburg airport.

Madi A Thavha is one of those wonderful tranquil places,  that brings a smile to my face when I think about it.

You have already posted lots of species we didn't see in KNP. I'll be interested to see your final totals... mine were depressingly low!! Hot,dry and dusty didn't make for good birding conditions.

Sorry to hear that @Dave Williams

The animals made up for it though! A great trip overall. Looking forward to comparing reports!!

ARRRGGGGGHHHHHH! just found yet ANOTHER duplicate. Really must pay more attention. Southern masked weaver is repeated, so another minus one from the score. :(

Some lovely photos again. Nice study of the Red-billed Oxpecker.

Sadly your double trouble seems to have been a habit. Check out 285 & 373.
