@offshorebirder, a less traditional option but a great way to learn about how the bushmen currently live: a friend of mine runs "outreaches". These are trips where the primary purpose is to re-supply mission stations and outlying communities, taking clothes, sometimes medical supplies and bibles to the Bushmen.

 

He runs these trips to the Northern cape and deep into Botswana.

 

Along the way you will see some spectacular country seldom seen by tourists, and get to know the Bushmen first-hand, with no script...
