1&2 are correct.

3 is certainly a "Redstart" but to me it has some features of female Black Redstart. Don't take my word on that. Wait and see other opinions.

4. Yes. You wills see the results of much interbreeding with this particularly promiscuous bird.

By redstart I meant black redstart, I didn´t know there´s more than one kind so I didn´t specify.

Stick with us and learn.:P

The original "Common Redstart" Phoenicurus phoenicurus also occurs as a summer visitor to Portugal.

Oddly 'your' Black Redstart is only a winter visitor where I live.

I tried and tried but I just can´t ID this one, is it a juvenile… something?

@pedro maia  Hi Pedro, I am pretty sure the first one is a Little Grebe and the second is a Blue Tit.

Some good additions again @pedro maia ! Your Green-winged Teal is, I think, the Eurasian Teal. They are very similar, but the Green Winged is a North American Duck.

The flying raptor looks like an Osprey. Very nice with the big catch!

Keep them coming, please!

I too regard our Teal as the Nominate species but them darn yankees won't have it. Boston has always been a problem!

I mean how can a bird be known to us before America was even discovered let alone it's upstart duck?

Nice photo of an Osprey too. Make that 62 @pedro maia.

@PeterHG I’ll correct the teal, thanks.

Regarding the osprey, I looked for signs to try not to ID ot as a kite, it’s obvious I failed and the first sign I disregarded was the catch, still a long way to go for me.

@Galana, the osprey will be #62, of course, it was a good afternoon for birds of prey, there was also the usual krestel and a couple of marsh harriers.

Herdade da Barroca is in one of the best areas in Portugal to see the glossy ibis and didn´t disappoint, but I could´n get a decent shot from the front.

I had a better opportunity but I missed it, I took this one from the car windshield but it flew away before I could take a decent picture:

Saturday 16 me and my wife went for a very nice drive south to the Alentejo, the plains region of Portugal, my main goal in what birds are concerned was the great bustard but before arriving to the area where we might have a chance to spot them we made a couple of stops and I got a few of picture to add to counting.
