Thank you very much @TonyQ, @xelas, @Galana and @pedro maia.

Pedro, I am afraid I have some bad news for you. Just how bad will only become evident in the next couple of weeks, as I still have quite a lot of work to do.

No problem, I was already expecting pretty bad news from you .

But there’s always a positive side, I loose hard but get to see lots of great pictures ;).

Congratulations on 200 - your lens made the flamingoes much more than the specks they were in my shots!

Thank you very much @Kitsafari and @Tdgraves.

We spent our holiday at the Yellowwood Forest campsite at Morgan's Bay. It turned out to be productive beyond my wildest expectations.

For once, I did a little bit of research beforehand, and also used local knowledge. I contacted Billy Mills, who is active in the local birding and photography clubs. He very kindly took me out birding on two occasions and showed me the best local spots.

What follows will be in no particular order, except that families tend to be grouped together, and the dross (photographically) will mainly come first.

Peter, what special software did you use to blur the subject while keeping the background sharp ?

@xelas, it is not software, it is a camera setting. It is called Manual focus...

😊

@Tdgraves, it is quite shy and with a small distribution. This was my second sighting (the previous one is on page 3 of my 2014 BY), but both were fleeting and in fairly poor light.
