Well thank Goodness the Corn Bunting obliged with a nice close up or you would suffer from eye strain.

I agree with Lesser Redpoll which is good species in UK.

#65 Sedge warbler (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus), Nivaa Denmark.

The Sedge warbler is not very common in Denmark and tend to hide in the reeds. Got the one shot using autofocus and then tried to shift to manual, but then it was gone!

@Galana I was thinking of you when I posted and with the recent (great) improvements from you we may soon have to find a new king of EBCB)

@Galana Might have found a new setting in the scene mode but he also has one for EBC's and he won't give it up easily!

#66 Mediterranean gull (Ichthyaetus melanocephalos) Nivaa, Denmark

You can see how much blacker the head is than for the Black - headed gull.

A good find in Denmark

#67 Eurasian curlew (Numenius arquata), Nivaa, Denmark

# 68 Common greenshank (Tringa Nebularia)

First birds are already migrating south! Sorry for the EBC

The day at the reserve was quite dramatic. We had a small fishing boat anchored quite close to the reserve and it looked as someone was diving, possibly looking for Mussels or similar. The person was close to the boat for quite a while and then started to get closer to land. We were looking at him through our binocs from time to time but he did not seem to be stressed or showing any signs of trying to contact us. Finally he got on dry land a few hundred metres from the observation tower and then collapsed. We quickly arranged for an ambulance and he was taken to hospital. He was suffering from Hypothermia, had swallowed a lot of seawater and had several bruises. It turned out that he had a large Seatrout in his gear and that he had jumped out of the boat to secure his catch. In doing so he had hurt his arm and was unable to get back on the boat.

He was quite lucky that there were people in the observation tower as the high tide was starting to come in.

@mvecht, following along on your little Owlets, hope they're going OK. Very artistic Sedge Warbler. Never a dull moment in Birding, lucky fisherman

@elefromoz  I have not seen the Owlets for more than a month. The foliage is too dense. Last time I saw them, all 4 were able to fly and looked healthy.

A trip to the local reserve in Nivaa, Denmark was quite productive.

Unfortunately most birds are seen at a distance .

Today I went to Borreby Mose about 100km west of Copnhagen. I had a meeting in the area and the reserve was just round the corner.
