Fabulous stuff Tony. The Mesia is a beautiful bird and you did it justice. Well don on a Malay ton.

We put a Tawny Owl nesting box up this year but no luck I'm afraid. I hear the Owls calling during the day but never see them. it's always a thrill to see an Owl I think.

These were very common in some areas. The nests are used in Birds' Nest Soup. Rather than raiding nests in caves, local people build what are called "Swift Houses" - quite large buildings of similar size to a human house.  There are entrances for the swiftlets, and they nest inside. The nests are collected  after the babies fledge.
