Titchwell Marsh Beach, Norfolk          14.10.20

Titchwell is about 10 miles West of Wells. The main hides were closed (Covid) but the smaller hides and the paths were open. THere were probably fewer birds than on our previous visits, but the beach was still an excellent place for birds.

We sat by the pool and this Dunlin just got closer and closer. A pretty bird in good light. There are a number of common waders that we had not seen because of lockdown so we were pleased to see this one!

I really like Sanderling - very small (20cm) they go scurrying about and rarely sit still.

Cley is about 10 miles west of Wells. Some of the central hides were closed, but a couple were open. We were delighted to catch a glimpse of this beautiful bird. We heard the very distinctive call and then saw this male for about a minute before it flew into another patch of reeds. A real treat for us!

Congrats on reaching 250.

Love the Sanderling and, as you said, a Bearded Tit/Reedling is always special. A handsome male too.

One of the pleasures of this time of year is seeing (and hearing) large flocks of geese flying over

Geese-2.jpg.488a20d61aaa8c2845d58d8f76919adb.jpg

It is getting very difficult to post - photos keep repeating so I will stop for now (a few more new ones to come!)

A good variety of birds and great photos (even the ones that are self repeating. I'll just repeat my likes, too ;))

Yup. I repeated all mine too.

Why not count the species all again?

Something weird on happening on the Forum at the moment.
