Why not count the White-Breasted Cormorant ("lucidus")?

Because I was following Birds of East Africa by Stevenson&Fanshawe year 2003. Obviously before next trip I will have to get a newer/better book. Any suggestions? And thank you, I have added BY 074 and changed the names!

Good heavens to Betsy @michael-ibk Don't encourage him. He is hard enough to control with his Bulbuls without starting on sub-species of Phalacrocorax carbo or he will be haring off down to the sea seeking Ssp.carbo sinensis as fast as his little legs can carry him.

And I will be looking out of my lounge window too.:P

And why not?! There are several to chose from, like marrocanus, hanedae, novaehollandiae, and closest to me already mentioned sinensis. But that will only happened ... never. As I am obviously not knowledgeable enough to make a distinction between species, how on Earth I would do so between ssp :(? OK, by location. Hmm, is Slovenia in the west of Europe or in the central Europe

Easy to turn your dreams into reality, just go and visit Uganda ... when int'l travels will open. Shoebills are plenty and easy to find, but a Shining-blue Kingfisher, or a Flufftail , for those you need both much luck and a very good guide.
