Love that shot of the flamingoes and the other species in flight!

and you are cruising well ahead at the helm of the 2020 BY list on the fifth day of the year  with some lovely shots.

A very prolific site is Lerizia. And probably warmer than Slovenia in January. You are building your 2020 portfoglio really quickly.

A beautiful set of additions from an apparently excellent birding site!

Saturday morning I went to a Hide in Arrábida, less than 40km south of Lisbon, I´ve been there a couple of times last year and it´s a good place to get some forest birds, there are two hides in the place, a YMCA camping, the hide I already new was booked so I had to settle for the other one which has an orientation that in the morning isn´t as good as the other one.

I struggled a bit with the light conditions and also with the focus of a couple of birds, they move quickly and don´t pose for as long as I wished :P.

Anyway, at this stage my list of forest birds was pretty much empty so every species that showed up was an addition.

I wasn´t exprecting to see this one, it occurs in the area but in small numbers, it´s not really common south of the Tagus River, and last year I was only able to get a really scrappy EBC so it was a good surprise.

They have this pitiful look but they were bullying the Dunnocks, they left the other birds alone but as soon as they saw a Dunnock they chased it away, quite funny to watch.

Also from Saturday, another new species:

#29 (N2), 4/1, Woodlark, Arrábida

Not the best shots but it was really far from the road, the P900 did a good job because even with binoculars I could only see there was a bird, and that´s because I saw it fly to the tree.

At this rate you will either break the P900 or break our spirits. :P

30 in the first 7 days of the year. Well done.
