At this rate you will either break the P900 or break our spirits. :P

30 in the first 7 days of the year. Well done.

The P900 warranty is valid for quite a while, so no problems there.

The weather is great here, sunny, with no wind, maybe a bit chiily but not too much, there are plenty of birds and I had a few days off so it´s not a great deal, I took pictures of other species but I know I can have better ones during the year.

Now I´m back to work but today, at lunch time, I pictured a very cool new species that doesn´t come here very often...

And I´m not going to break anybody´s spirit, in a month time you´ll have more birds than me at the end of the year...

I love the tits, especially the crested tit.

Great effort from a productive hide.

Recently there were many sightings of a species that doesn´t occur here every year and that I never seen before (which isn´t strange :P), the sighting occur all in the same spor, a forest park here in Lisbon and I pass by that spot most days in my way to work so yesterday morning I stoped, went to check it but saw nothing, never mind, I went back there during lunch time and there they were, male and female, a really cool species:

#33 (N3), 7/1, Red Crossbill, Monsanto, Lisboa

Ah, my favourite locals - I see Lisbon is out of range for them, so a really good tick!

Yesterday the weather was great (again) so during lunchtime I grabed the camera from the car, went for a short walk in the park right in front of the office and the result was another tick:

#34 (N4), 8/1, Eurasian Siskin, Parque Eduardo VII, Lisboa

Oh, Pedro, wait a minute! We are not even at bird #3 and you are already at page #3!!!

The Crossbill is a fascinating bird, and your photo does it a justice.

What I was looking for Friday afternoon was one duck I had missed one week ago, it was there with the Tufted Ducks but I probably saw it but didn´t notice it and also didn´t catch it in any picture, but not this time.

Saturday I went to Lagoa de Óbidos with one of the top Portuguese birders and the plan was to look for some uncommon/rare birds, better saying, he would look for them and I would take pictures :P.

#40 (N6), 11/1, Black-necked Grebe, Lagoa de Óbidos

Time for the first EBC of 2020, a rarity that I wasn´t able to get a better picture:

#41 (N7), 11/1, Horned Grebe, Lagoa de Óbidos

With 2 Black-necked Grebes, the difference in the picture is in the white parts.

Now I´m going into full bird nerd mode, as I was told last Saturday that a split of the Whimbrel was accepted by the IOC right in the beginning of 2020, the American Whimbrel is now a new species, called Hudsonian Whimbrel (Numenius Hudsonicus),not the most interesting thing in the world if it wasn´t the fact that one of those is spending the winter here and was very cooperative posing for my pictures.

#43 (N9), 11/1, Hudsonian Whimbrel, Lagoa de Óbidos

After leaving Lagoa de Óbidos I went by myself to the nearby town of Peniche with indications to look for another not so common bird, a single individual, in the rocks of the port breakwater, not an easy task considering that it´s quite a small birds and that there are lots of rocks in the breakwater and that the bird in question blends perfectly with the rocks, it took me a while but somehow I found it:

#44 (N10), 11/1, Purple Sandpiper, Molhe Leste, Peniche

@pedro maia, Lerizia looks terrific Birding location, I will keep that in the back of my mind for the future. The flock of BlackTailed Godwits is fantastic, but, as Flamingo are something of a rarity for me, that's my pick of the bunch. Ive seen them in various countries, but never managed a decent photo.
