@Tdgraves, great shots of the Green Woodpecker. The little Goldcrest at your birdbath is lovely

That'll probably be all for a while. We are off to St. Lucia on Saturday, COVID test, FCO advice, quarantine and St. Lucia government notwithstanding. I am taking my camera, but there will not be as many ticks compared to the planned Kenya trip...

thanks. My test results aren’t back yet, but the OH is negative. Hotel is in the rainforest, so am hoping for at least a few new ones, but mainly we just need a rest...

@Tdgraves where are you staying?

Hopefully you will tell us a bit about your hotel when you get back. We had thought about St Lucia so will be interested.

Have a good time

  • 5 weeks later...

Passed a great white egret on the way to work this morning. Didn’t even occur to me stop and take a photo. Only when I saw a little egret on the way home, did I realise that I haven’t ever seen one here before. Needless to say, it wasn’t there tonight....

Damn!!

I guess I am so used to seeing birds in Africa, that my internal UK database is wonky! However, by searching on the internet, it has been around here for a few days, as well as others in the area, so when it stops raining, I will try again...
