I think that’s it for the SA trip. I can’t for the life of me find a quelea and I know that we only had one sighting of a grey hornbill and a Brubru, so unless I find any LBJs when I (finally) get round to the TR, that’s it. the most surprising non-appearance was from the yellow-billed hornbill and the LBR!

Sometimes the big surprises are what you don't see rather than what you do. Quite a few 'regulars ' were missing from our Uganda trip such as Goliath Heron, Darter and Saddle-billed Stork.

Nope, none at all. Both of them have been elusive in the past, not appearing until the last few days, but this time, zero!
