Do you mean 111?  Its a owl species known as a Southern Boobook (Ninox boobook).  The name comes from the call boo-book (or some say more-pork there is a related species in southern Aus and New Zealand called the Morepork) which you can hear here https://wildambience.com/wildlife-sounds/southern-boobook/

I'm not sure what this bird was doing, it seemed to be flapping about all over the place holding what looks like a piece of bark, which it later dropped mid-air - whether deliberately or not I will never know

Lovely Bee-Eater pix.

Sadly, like the UK, Australia only has 1 variety of Bee-Eater although you do get to see it much more frequently.
