What a great bird to get as a lifer. I doubt it will appear on my IOM list.

And to do it with such a great Photo.

#44 (IOM 27) Long-tailed Duck (Clangula hyemalis)

This was actually a lifer for me

It would be for me too. We've actually had one on one of the broads not too far away, under normal circumstances,  but just a bit too far to travel at the moment. Also, from what I've heard, a bit distant for photos.

I'd love to have seen it.

#49 (IOM 33)

Herring Gull (Larus Argentatus)

I always struggle with the English name of this bird:rolleyes:

The scientific name translates as Silver gull which is also the Danish/German name!

Well done on the 50 - I was so busy “liking” them, I didn’t notice the numbers last night!

#54 (IOM 38) Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorac carbo)

Much closer to home in one of the small lakes on the estate.

Notice the Oystercatchers at the top right corner. Looks like they are ready to nest. They will be part of the collection later in the year.
