By the way, I´m still in the process of ID, some species are difficult to tell apart from each other and of course some of the pictures don´t help, anyway, all ID corrections are most welcome .

Just our of curiosity, do you use full size SD cards or Micro SD with an adaptor?

I use full size cards.

Pedro. I had a similar fail in June which risked the loss of a days worth of the Pine Martens studies. (I promptly swapped out the card of course).

When I got home I got my techy friend to look at the failed card and he used a download called "Diskdigger". Downloadable from 'Defiant Technologies LLC .' About £15.

It as brilliant. It showed most files that had ever been on that card, even the ones that had been deliberately deleted in the normal way. They all came up on screen as a list of dates and to save time, and effort, we just selected the day of failure and a few either side, and rescued them back to my hard drive.

So don't despair. Nothing is lost if it has not been overwritten.

Sensible

 

Some people use Micro SD cards with an adaptor which is not a good idea.

The Micro SD cards are fine, but the adaptors are not designed for heavy use and the contacts are not reliable. If you use them in a device (camera or otherwise) that is constantly accessing the card there will be intermittent failures.

I went to the nearest photo shop and now I´m waiting for information, if it doesn´t work I´ll ask you for your friend´s contact .
