Thanks @TonyQand @pedro maia!

Tony, are you referring to my previous post (Manakin & co) or are you asking about specifics for this latest batch?

738/EC207) Blue-Black Grosbeak (Cyanocompsa cyanoides) / Stahlkardinal

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. Since I spoilt you a bit with the Tanagers and Toucanets it´s time to remind you of my normal photo level:

Where is Waldo?

Apparently quite a rare bird in this region, and I was the one spotting it - hooray! (Quite silly, even though almost all the birds were new to me for some reason it feels more exciting when someone tells you they are rare.)

739/EC208) Barred Puffbird (Nystalus radiatus) / Grünschnabel-Faulvogel

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. A better poser. I appreciate Puffbirds since they hardly ever move. Much easier than all the endlessly-hopping-around Warblers and Tyrannulets.

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. And back to the world of ephemeral ebcs.

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. Absolutely refused to show its scarlet rump.

742/EC211) Grey-and-Gold Tanager (Tangara palmeri) / Silbermanteltangare

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. Another pretty distant sighting. No idea where it has that gold they are talking about.

743/EC212) Purple-Throated Fruitcrow (Querula purpurata) / Purpurbrustkotinga

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. I was delighted that it showed me the puffed-out throat, much cooler-looking that way.

744/EC213) Lyre-Tailed Nightjar (Uropsalis lyra) / Leierschwanz-Nachtschwalbe

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. I´m afraid the photos doesn´t really do it justice but this was one of the birds of the day for us. A ridicolously long tail, up to three times the length of the body. Males roost during the day on vines or branches that allow their long tail to hang down. Very well camouflaged and it took me quite a while to spot it even after we were told were to look.

747/EC216) Long-Billed Starthroat (Heliomaster longirostris) / Rosenkehlkolibri

Mashpi, 13/8/2022. A juvenile. The orange breast is not the plumage but orange pollen or sap smeared on the breast probably.

Last bird of the day. It was quite a long drive back, we reached the main road not far from Rio Silanche so it was almost 90 minutes until we were at the lodge again. More friends joined us for dinner:

Another Kinkajou - or was it an Olinguito?

A spectacular collection of birds in the last set, Michael! Great photos, too. What a difference a few rays of sunlight makes for the hummingbirds. It must have felt vey special to see and feel the tiny creatures land on your hand to feed!

all the tanagers are gorgeous, especially the Beryl-Spangled Tanager. but the toucanet is stunning

and you are just 3 birds away from the 3/4s of a thousand - a place where no BY-er in this forum has been!

Thanks! Onwards and upwards:

748/EC217) Streak-Capped Treehunter (Thripadectes virgaticeps) / Ockerkinn-Baumspäher

Tandayapa Bird Lodge, 14/8/2022. Finally we spent some time around our lodge. It had already been our homebase for 4 nights by now but since we were always out early and late back we never really had a chance to check out what was going on here. The morning moth sheet was a huge disappointment. This had been so full of birds in Guango but here we saw - nothing! This was the only species in 40 minutes until we gave up. The walk back was not much better. Too dark to see much, and the few interesting species we could ID were too far away or too quickly gone.

749/EC218) Scaled Fruiteater (Ampelioides tschudii) / Schuppenkotinga

Tandayapa Bird Lodge, 14/8/2022. Ok, this was quite a nice bird but the sighting not very satisfying for photos.

A slightly better sighting the next day:

750/EC219) Red-Headed Barbet (Eubucco bourcierii) / Andenbartvogel

Tandayapa Bird Lodge, 14/8/2022. The feeders at the lodge were way more fun. Another one of my high priority target birds for the trip, and it really delivered.
