Welcome back Peter. I don’t think I have seen an acacia pied barbet outside of the Northern Cape, so we’ll done!

Thank you very much @Tdgraves. Now that you mention it, I don't think I have either. This was just one very fleeting glimpse. I think it was gone before I'd figured out what it was.

This ID is probably a bit suspect as I never saw the crown. ID is based on behaviour, but I am by no means an expert on that.

Excellent flight shots of the Tchagra, Peter! Might your Greater Kestrel perhaps be a juvenile Gabar Goshawk? In any case, beautiful photos of the raptor.

Agree with tchagra. Is the raptor a juvenile African goshawk?

The Tchagra is fine with me too but I share the reservations about the Kestrel. I think too many tail bars for African G and a juv Gabar would fit better. However I am not 100% on that either.:(

My apologies for the interruption.

Been rather busy and with load-shedding at inopportune times.

Thanks to @PeterHG, @Tdgraves and @Galanafor the comments and the correction.

Lots of hyphens and the avian member of the "little five". Some of which are far more elusive than any of the big five.
