Unseasonable rain led to "pop-up dams" in the Bossieveld, and the ducks were quick to appear.

(And can I recommend a good optometrist? Those are wild peaches, not litchis:P) But the birds certainly got their 5-a-day or 7-a-day or whatever number we're supposed to get in every day.

My first visit to De Mond delivered  lots of birds, most of the LWJ kind that had even Merlin stumped.  I'll leave them till later.

I am in fact badly overdue for a visit to the optometrist. I last saw him before Covid and my glasses have been super-glued about 5 times...
