Interesting @@Tom Kellie! Some time ago I posted photos of our fieldtrip in that area on our website. You find the portfolio on:

WOW! What a post that is!

Thank you so, so much for sharing the link here.

It's exactly what I'm especially interested in.

Now the cat's out of the bag that Kidepo Valley is heavily on my mind.

I'm unable to stop thinking about it. Your lovely photos intensify my interest.

Funny how life works, isn't it?

You posted the Imatongs image which indirectly resulted in an increase in my desire to visit Kidepo Valley.

I'm more grateful to you than you might imagine, as this is a subject near and dear to my heart.

Something tells me that Kidepo Valley may be “my kind of place”.

With Appreciation,

Tom K.

What an evocative photograph.

I like everything about it — the subjects, the location, the atmosphere, the composition.

Although I'd never yet visited Africa when your image was made, it feels somehow ‘real’ to me.

Thank you for posting it.

Two more sunset shots:

After a long Safari day, we left the Serengeti around sunset.
I had packed the camera in my photo bag.
The sun was perfect behind the tree and the silhouette of the Massai and their cattle.
Unfortunately, our guide needs some time to stop the car and move backwards.
Then, the sun was almost gone …
… and the Massai close to home.
I still like the picture; even I have missed the “perfect” shot.

We have encountered many clouds during our Tanzania Safari in August 2011.
There were not many opportunities to photograph a sunset.
On one day in the Seronera, Serengeti we had luck.
The dark dots in the sun are solar storms, not sensor dirt.
I still dream about it, to have a group of Giraffes or Elephants walking through the sunset.
I have to go again to Africa.

After having already made such outstanding images, your next African safari is sure to yield more fine images.

I like both of your African sunset images.

May your next visit to Africa be sooner than you imagine!

A beautiful “taken at exactly the right moment” image.

I hadn't realized that there were mountains beside the Zambezi.

Thank you for posting it.

Location: Nairobi National Park

Camera: Nikon D3200

Lens: 18-55mm AF

I have always admired sunrise and sunset images, This deep interest forced me to consult about it. After some few lessons, I decided it was time to practice. This was the result of my third try.

With a result as fine as that, you're on your way to becoming the Rembrandt of Nairobi National Park.

The intense contrasts and deep hues are arresting. Who knew that Nairobi National Park could appear so dramatic?

Your camera and lens have brought out the beauty of sunset, with an intensity that's beguiling.

Thank you for posting it here.

I'm delighted that your sharing images with Safaritalk from your ongoing experience as an Emakoko master guide.

KaingU Lodge

Sorry guys, I have been really quiet on here since December! But anyway, I have had a few words from the Game Warden and promise to pull my socks up and pull my finger out and raise my game. Detention was tough, Matt gets quite vocal. Anyway, I will be posting as usual from now on. Including Kaingu news, Kafue news, gibberish of all sorts. Game on.
