Why was the tiger on the left chained?

The one with the chain was rescued as a cub after the mother was killed by poachers. It is allowed to roam with its Mahot. Burma, partly because of it being secluded from the outside world, has some unique opportunities to see and be with some great animals. For example, you can go on a 7 day excursion through the jungle on white elephants. A little sore on the behind but the wildlife you see is unbelievable.

Xcrunch - dying to hear all about Burma now! Don't think we have any Burma (Myanmar) TRs on ST so far. My great grandfather had a sugar plantation there and I have heard wonderful wildlife stories about those days, but assumed that it was all pretty much gone. More than happy to know that I am wrong.

It will take me a while to put something together. It will be a first time for me, and after reading some of the reports they are quite impressive and initating.

Hi all, this is my first posting. The picture of cheetah was taken with Nikon D600, 75 -300 mm lens, in Ndutu, Serengeti a week ago when we went to see the migration.

Any views, suggestions on improving my photography skills will be welcome as have just started learning.

A harmless Spotted Bush Snake, found wondering around in Duba Plains Camp, Botswana (2006). I followed it around for nearly 30 minutes before it settled down and let me take some close-up shots.

I think it's a type of Armoured Cricket. I took this photo because I was impressed by the colours, especially the metallic blue legs - Lower Zambezi, Zambia (2006).
