Something a bit different. Busanga Plains Sept' 2008, Driving back from the Papyrus swamps one evening we were surprised by a large grass fire sweeping towards us.

Geoff, that's special! I love the colors at Busanga -- haze, smoke, a layer of fog in the morning...

@@Safaridude Thanks for the comments ~ Couldn't agree more about Busanga. ...and the mist in the morning really does top things off.

 

Love the cranes in your image above too. Just wish they were flying towards you.

Thank you everyone. There were 6 of us in the vehicle, and we spotted the leopard from about 50 meters away. The grass was probably 2-3 feet high (not that tall), but we lost him. Our 6 pairs of eyes would periodically just catch the flick of the tail, only to lose him again. It took us about 10 minutes of tracking to find him in whole. He was probably no farther than 25 meters from the vehicle most of that time. What an incredible creature, the leopard...
