Lucky you to be escorted to Botswana with the greatest cheetah lover of them all;

and always fortunate to find them for us to see with great delight. :)

Welcome!

Such gorgeous animals...

What was most fascinating to me was how they sort of desperately chirp to find each other when one of them loses the other.

I just love that chirping sound. :)

Thank you all for the welcome!

Here are some pictures from the dog den at Kwara. Hari missed out on these because he stayed in Lebala while the rest of us went to Little Kwara.

This pack at Kwara had 16 dogs and there are 15 puppies in the den. The Alpha female is a really unique pale colour. We had a really nice morning with them.

P.S - I have learnt that the 3 boys have returned from Muvumbi to Lagoon and are actually mobile South (last couple of days) ..... go figure!!! Oh well ...... too bad for us. Couple weeks too late!

Your pictures and report is mesmerizing! We will be going to these camps in June of 2015 for two weeks so it will be interesting to see how the sightings and the running of the camps will change.

Thanks everyone for your continued interest in this report and for all the kind words and encouragement - appreciate it!

Here are a couple of "reflections" in the pan from that Tssesebe series at Lagoon. (Image is obviously flipped over! )

That Pangolin from Lagoon camp! (it was an overcast day and the Pangolin was found by guide, Matt earlier in the afternoon and was hiding in the Kalahari apple leaf; so I got Mr.Moe to use the spot light for some extra light) ...... as I mentioned somewhere earlier in the report, I was late to arrive at Lagoon due to immigration delays on a sunday in Maun and was late to get my game drive under way.

Apparently, it's very stressful to the animal if we humans get down and pick it up and touch it (no more doing that- I did anyways in October 2008 and respected nature for how it's meant to be!)

Ground Pabgolin, finally! You kept us waiting with this one, but well worth the wait. Would so love to see one of these sometime...:)

Yeah, I know a Pabgolin would be even more exciting than a Pangolin. Blame my excitement. ;)

Onto the Lion Pride at Lagoon - Pride is two Lionesses (one of them with 3 cubs) and the two pride males (Blackie and Blondie) ........ These Lions provide some very photogenic moments - believe me, my last DECENT Lion sighting at Lagoon was way back (August 2006; not making this up) .........

There is also a third Lioness related to this pride (with two cubs) - but, not re-united with the pride as of my visit to Lagoon ....... Saw them briefly and left them to their own devices; since they looked slightly edgy/skittish and we didn't want to bother them. Not sure what was going on there as the game drives do see them regularly.
